Vane

With respect to pumps, the vane designates the most important component for power transmission at a centrifugal pump. As a result, the vane has a significant influence on the pump output.

Depending on the pump type, there is a number of different designs of vanes. In principle, a distinction is made between impellers with simple as well as curved vanes. The design of the impeller – closed, semi-open, or open – has an effect on the impeller vane.
Is it always possible to adjust vanes in pumps?

The vane of a pump can be fixed or adjustable. The latter applies if it can be moved to a certain position and fixed in the context of a disassembly. Some centrifugal pumps can also rotate the vanes during operation.
