Speed Control

Speed control is of particular importance for centrifugal pumps. It designates the controlled regulation of the pump speed in order to achieve an energy-efficient operation. The performance data of the pump serve as an orientation for the optimal speed.

One possibility of adjusting the speed of a pump and running the installation as close as possible at the optimum range is the use of frequency converters. This type of speed control offers many advantages, especially in applications in which the conditions, such as the volume flow rate, can change. This makes a variable speed control possible.
