Pump acceptance test

To ensure that customers receive pumps that meet the characteristic values guaranteed by the manufacturer, they are verified in the framework of a pump acceptance test. The basis for the technical acceptance test is laid out by the supply contract. It defines not only technical warranties and parameters. Customer and supplier define in the contract, where, when, with which scope and at what costs the acceptance test will be performed. The location for its execution can be the pump test facility of the manufacturer or a neutral site or, if necessary, the pump installation of the customer.

Before the acceptance test can be performed, the customer and pump manufacturer define the acceptance rules and agree on different questions, such as which measurement uncertainties are permissible for the acceptance test, which speed should be used for operation, or how to proceed in case of upper or lower limit violation of the guaranteed efficiency. DIN 1944 describes fixed basics for acceptance tests for centrifugal pumps.
